Founder, Janita Jones
Born and raised in the impoverished streets of the inner city of South Central L.A., Janita Jones was forced to navigate a world filled with violence, crime, and poverty since she was a child. Despite her challenging circumstances, Janita refused to surrender to the harsh realities of her environment. Although she made mistakes in her past as a juvenile she was able to motivate herself to press forward to achieve greatness for her future.
As a young girl, Janita was determined to break free from the cycle of poverty that plagued her community. She worked tirelessly after graduating from high school, knowing that taking a trade was her ticket out of the ghetto. Despite facing numerous obstacles, such as inadequate resources and a lack of support such as mentorship, Janita pressed through the obstacles.
She worked multiple jobs to pay for her living expenses. However, she never lost sight of her goal, and soon enough, her hard work paid off. She started her first healthcare corporate job in her early 20’s at United Health Plan in Inglewood, California. This is where it all started.
Motivated by her own struggles, Janita has since dedicated her life to helping others. She started a non-profit organization that focuses on empowering young girls and women from disadvantaged backgrounds. She offers mentorship and guidance to help them achieve their dreams, just as she did. Janita’s organization “SistahCode Network, Inc.” has successfully helped many women to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential.
Janita is an inspiring, motivating, and caring woman who has proven that one's background does not define their future. She is a true testament to the power of resilience, hard work, and determination. Her life story serves as a beacon of hope for anyone facing adversity, reminding them that they too can overcome their challenges and achieve greatness.
